Dylan Kopec  “To  compete and be competitive in Stafford’s SK modified division”



(TRT) WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TRACK? WHY?

 

Dylan Kopec “7Stafford Speedway. The professional/fan friendly atmosphere for fans and drivers, the competitiveness every week, and it’s a very fun track to race”



(TRT) HOW DID THE NUMBER M-6 COME ABOUT?

 

Dylan Kopec “The M-6 started back when they had to separate the modifieds from the stock cars, they were #6 and the M stood for “Modified””



(TRT) ANY PLANS  FOR TOUR TYPE MODIFIED RACING IN 2023?

Dylan Kopec “No plans for tour type racing in the near future, but I would like to be back competing with them one day.”


(TRT) WHO IS DYLAN KOPEC THE PERSON, THE DRIVER?

 

Dylan Kopec “I’m 27 years old, 2nd generation driver to Chris Kopec. I started racing when I was 5 in the Wild Thing Kart series and I’ve been racing since then. I’ve been around the racing block competing in staffords weekly divisions starting in 2012as well as tour type modified racing from 2014-2020. I have a beautiful daughter and wife that supports my passion to race. My father is a die hard, old school racer and my mother is supportive…but, would rather I play golf (haha!)”



(TRT) YOU RUN WITH THE ELITE AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY, WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO WIN THERE?

 

Dylan Kopec “I’m still trying to earn my first SK modified win at Stafford. I’m beyond grateful I get to run weekly with some of the best out there, I get to learn from them and beating them is a huge accomplishment”



(TRT) WHAT WOULD YOU DO, IF YOU WON THE SIZZLER?

 

Dylan Kopec  “I were to win the Sizzler it would be huge, I’d like to celebrate with the team, eat some good food, drinks and sit back and think about how to be better next week”



(TRT) WHAT TRACK IN THE U.S. WOULD YOU LIKE TO RACE AT?

 

Dylan Kopec “Modifieds at Martinsville or Bristol”

Dylan Kopec “Apple all day!”

    Covered local racing at tracks in the New England Region for Speedway Scene. Covered asphalt racing with his column "Class of Connecticut" then covered dirt track racing for over 10 years with his "Riding the Dirt" Column. Traveled up and down the East coast for over a decade for the now (closed) trade paper. He now shifts his focus to his new venture "The Racing Times" Online Magazine.
