The North State Modified Series moves north to Shasta Speedway in Anderson for its second event of the 2023 season on June 24. The open-comp modified auto race will be a part of the Shasta County Fair festivities as will the local Legends Cars, Bombers and Hornets.

Scott Winters of Tracy won the first NSMS event at Redwood Acres Raceway in Eureka earlier this month. He is currently leading in the points standings by one point over Brandon White of Eureka. Sitting third in points is Eric Price II of Meridian, fourth is Kylei Keown of Redwood Valley, and Kelseyville driver Sal Martinez is fifth.

The current NSMS track record on Shasta’s one-third paved oval is 15.952 seconds held by Darrin Sullivan of Kelseyville. Winters, as well as the entire field, will be striving to break this two-year old record and to earn the “O’Reillys Auto Parts Fastest Qualifier Award.” Qualifying begins at 5:15 pm and racing starts at 7:00 pm.

The North State Modified Series would not be possible without the support of Hoosier Tire West, Sunoco Race Fuels, Anderson Logging, Racer Bling, Mark & Sharon Baldwin, Doyce Eaton, Scribner Plastics, McMurray & Sons Roofing, Frank’s Radios and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.
