SOUTH BOSTON, VA……The SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic will return to South Boston Speedway for a second visit this season on Saturday afternoon, October 12 for an event that will serve as the series’ penultimate event of the 2024 season.

A 99-lap race for the stars and cars of the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic will headline the racing action. The Southern Ground Pounders Vintage Racing Club will serve as a support division. An additional support series will be named later.

The October 12 race at South Boston Speedway replaces the event originally scheduled at Rockingham Speedway.

“We began the season with the SMART Modified Tour, and we’re thrilled to invite them back to end our 2024 racing season on October 12,” said Brandon Brown, General Manager for South Boston Speedway.
“The Modifieds always put on an incredible show here at South Boston Speedway, and this gives our fans one more chance to enjoy them in 2024. With a championship berth on the line, we know the drivers will give everyone their money’s worth.”

“We are excited that South Boston Speedway has offered us the opportunity to race in the heart of Modified country once again,” said Chris Williams, Director of the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic. “If the King of the Modifieds race at South Boston was any indication, our championship fight for this race will be exciting on October 12.”

This marks the second season in a row for South Boston Speedway hosting a late-season race for the SMART Modified Tour. Andy Jankowiak won the event last October. Young Luke Baldwin won the King of the Modifieds race held at South Boston Speedway in late March.
