ANDY JANKOWIAK BREAKS FOUR-YEAR DROUGHT WITH VICTORY IN “NIGHT BEFORE
THE GLEN” ROD SPALDING CLASSIC AT CHEMUNG SPEEDROME
Trisha Connolly (Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash), Joe Mancuso (Race of Champions Late Model) and Ajay Potrzebowski (Chemung Hobby Stocks) also claim wins
Chemung, N.Y. – (August 11, 2025) – Andy Jankowiak of Tonawanda, N.Y., ended a four-year winless streak in the Race of Champions Modified Series in dramatic fashion Saturday night, capturing the _Night Before The Glen_ Rod Spalding Classic at Chemung Speedrome.
Jankowiak’s last series victory came in the 2021 _Race of Champions 250_ at Lake Erie Speedway. This time, he drove a determined race, taking the lead from early front-runner TJ Potrzebowski of Elmira, N.Y., and holding off a hard-charging Bryce Bailey of Waverly, N.Y., to secure the emotional win.
“We had a great car tonight and this is a big deal for us,” Jankowiak said in victory lane following a celebratory burnout. “We’ve been digging and working through a lot of challenges. It just hasn’t come together until tonight. I need to thank everyone who helps us—my crew, my family, my sponsors, my friends—just everyone. This one means a lot.”
Bailey settled for second, his second top-three Chemung finish of the season, while Austin Beers of Northampton, Pa., claimed third and inched ahead of Matt Hirschman in the championship standings. Hirschman finished fourth, with Shawn Nye of Lancaster, N.Y., rounding out the top five.
Heat race wins went to Beers, Hirschman, and Nye, while Jankowiak topped the charts in green-white-checker group qualifying.
