Universal Driveshaft Joins Stafford Contingency Program for 2026

(Stafford Springs, CT)—For 2026, Stafford Motor Speedway will welcome Universal Driveshaft, part of CT Axle Service of Ellington, CT, as the latest addition to its contingency program.  Universal Driveshaft will support the Street Stock division with a weekly bonus of $50 to each third place finisher during the 2026 season.

“We just started building driveshafts not quite 2 years ago and we’re looking to promote that,” said Pete Hany, Jr, owner of Universal Driveshaft.  “CT Axle is an established differential and spindle company and we added driveshaft building to our existing business and this is a great opportunity for us to team up with a well-known track.  If you ask around the country, chances are most everyone has heard of Stafford Speedway and there’s been some pretty prominent drivers from New England that have gone on to race in the NASCAR Cup and other series.  I would say Stafford is a family racetrack and that fits in perfectly with us because we’re a family owned business.  My wife and my kids are just as much a part of this business as I am.”

With 20 races on the schedule for the 2026 season, Street Stock drivers will be racing to take home a piece of a $1,000 prize pool from Universal Driveshaft.  The 2025 season saw 12 different drivers take home a 3rd place bonus.  The 12 different 3rd place bonus winners matched the total from the 2024 season when there were also 12 different drivers to record a third place finish.

About Universal Driveshaft

CT Axle Service, which is located at 40 Lower Butcher Road in Ellington, was started in 2004 by Pete Hany, Jr. and now has Universal Driveshaft operating under that business name.  CT Axle specializes in drivetrain service in everything from street and race cars up to 4×4’s and medium duty trucks and campers.  For most of their spindle services, CT Axle is mobile and will perform their work either on the road or at your shop.  For more information about Universal Driveshaft, visit CTAxleService.com or call 860-375-6045.

“We do differentials, truck spindles, trailer spindles, and we just added driveshafts to our line of drivetrain service,” continued Hany.  “Universal Driveshaft operates as part of the CT Axle name.  We started the business in 2004 and differential work and rear ends is all I’ve ever done.  We’re a specialized business in a niche market and drivetrains are what we focus on.  We do rear ends from pickup trucks and hot rods all the way up to medium duty differentials and we also do street and race cars and 4×4’s all the way up to medium duty.  For spindles, we do anything from pickup trucks up to tractor trailers, small utility and general purpose trailers, and campers.  There’s a few things we can’t do on the road but for the most part the truck and trailer spindle work we do is almost all mobile.”

The first Universal Driveshaft contingency of the 2026 season will be paid out as part of the 54th Annual NAPA Spring Sizzlerยฎ, set for April 25-26. The NAPA Spring Sizzlerยฎ kicks off on Saturday, April 25, with feature events for the Late Model, Limited Late Model, Street Stock, and Granite State ProStock divisions, along with SK Light qualifying duel races that will set the field for an extra-distance 30-lap feature event on Sunday, April 26.
