RACE OF CHAMPIONS MODIFIED SERIES SET FOR RETURN TO MAHONING VALLEY SPEEDWAY IN SUMMER SHOOTOUT

– Hirschman and Hartwig Resume Championship Battle –

Lehighton, Pennsylvania (July 27, 2026) – Race of Champions Modified Series competitors are preparing to continue the 2026 season at Mahoning Valley Speedway—and fans are just as eager to see the Summer Shootout this Saturday.

If opening day at the tight 1/4-mile facility is any indication, this race will be a can’t miss race of the season. This Saturday, August 1 at 6:00pm is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated start times on the 2026 calendar.

Matt Hirschman of Northampton, PA, and Paulie Hartwig, III of Galloway, NJ have been having a tight battle for the Series championship that will continue this Saturday at Mahoning.

“Anything can happen at Mahoning,” explained Hirschman. “The track has multiple grooves, and because of its size, it really levels the playing field. You have to have a good-handling car, but you also need to be patient and drive precisely to get the job done. It’s a lot of fun for the driver, and because of the size of the track, the fans can see everything.”

Hartwig offered. “We have run a lot at Mahoning and we are looking forward to it. Hopefully, we will have a good night.”

A strong contingent of Race of Champions Modified Series competitors will head into the event. They will be joined by the Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series at Mahoning Valley Speedway.

Qualifying for the 75-lap Series opener will begin at 6:00pm on Saturday, August 1 alongside a full card of Mahoning Valley Speedway racing.
