Change of Plans: Georgetown Practice Now Friday, Sunday Option Added

GEORGETOWN, DE – Change of plans.

Georgetown Speedway’s Open Practice – originally slated for Saturday, March 2 – has been moved up to Friday night, March 1.

With a forecast calling for rain on Saturday, the season opening practice will move to Friday night.

Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with rounds of practice beginning at 6 p.m. and continuing until 9 p.m. Pit admission is $30 (ages 13 and up), $10 Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 Children ages 5 and under. 

All divisions are welcome to participate.

Should conditions permit, a second Open Practice will take place on Sunday, March 3 with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. and cars on track at 1 p.m. The Sunday practice will be determined by Saturday rainfall and facility conditions permit. 

Another Open Practice is slated for Friday, March 8 before the 2024 season opening race on March 9.

The ‘Jake Marine Memorial’ lifts the lid on 2024 at Georgetown with the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By Sunoco in town.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
