Quotes for NHRA – Route 66 NHRA Nationals

Cruz Pedregon, two-time Funny Car World Champion says:

After time between races before heading back to the track, the team is in the shop rebuilding the Snap-on® Dodge® Hellcat car after a small explosion and fire at the 4-wide in Charlotte.

We will be making test runs with the Snap-on Funny Car at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park here in Indy prior to the Joliet event. We’ve discovered something in our clutch application program that has been amiss. This discovery should contribute greatly to our consistency moving forward as we work hard trying to get that first win of the season.

Our qualifying efforts have been solid as we’ve been clicking off three out of four full, consistent runs down the track. It’s just been on Sundays when the track warms up that have been challenging and causing tire spin. So, finding an issue in the clutch area should address this.

We’re looking forward to the Joliet event and the upcoming races on the schedule. The Joliet racetrack, which is just south of Chicago, has a great 26-year history. And it’s just down the road from our primary sponsor Snap-on’s headquarters in Wisconsin, so it’s important for us to do well at this event.
