Cruz Pedregon, two-time Funny Car World Champion, says:

This will be the ninth stop on the NHRA tour this year. If you’ve been following the Snap-on® Makers and Fixers Funny Car performance, you’ve noticed we’ve been steadily making strong, consistent runs. We’re doing everything we can to deliver that first win of the season, and we’re doing it for the men and women in the shops and garages everywhere—the Makers and Fixers who keep the world running.

At the last race, we were well on our way to the semifinals with about a car-and-a-half lead when the car moved over and I was forced to lift to avoid crossing the centerline. Still, the consistency we’ve been chasing for the past couple of years is finally starting to show.

That’s exactly what we’re bringing into Richmond, a strong, steady car that’s ready to make a move. Richmond is also a key market for our primary sponsor, Snap-on®, and home to many Makers and Fixers working hard in local shops. This race will be a bit different with a condensed two-day format (Saturday-Sunday). We’ll have three qualifying runs on Saturday, so every run will count.

Name on the side of Cruz’s car – Snap-on Nitro Franchisee George Herceg

·        Franchisee George Herceg’s name is the one you’ll see on the side of Cruz’s Snap-on Dodge® Hellcat®.

·     As this week’s Nitro Franchisee, George had fun plans with Cruz prior to the race, taking him to local shops to meet professional Makers and Fixers, many of whom are also drag racing fans.

·        George arranged one of the stops at a diesel shop, knowing Cruz’s family and racing connection to trucks and the trucking industry.

·        He also planned a stop at a shop to visit with Spanish-speaking automotive professionals he knew would enjoy meeting Cruz.

·       After 41 years with Snap-on, George says he’s excited to have his son, George III, and grandson, George IV, pose with him in front of the Snap-on Makers and Fixers Funny Car in Cruz’s pit this weekend.
