Quotes – Cruz Pedregon, two-time Funny Car World Champion
Looking forward to the second race of the 2024 season. Pomona is a great track. We’ve won some big races there in the past.
I’m also looking forward to having the fans check out the new look on the Snap-on Dodge Hellcat. It’s got the flat black, and it’s looking good.
We had some good runs at Gainesville, so we’re looking forward to improving our position there and going some rounds…always with the goal to win another race.
Pomona is definitely a place I look forward to every year. It has a Southern California feel. It has all the cool places to go eat…namely In-N-Out Burger. And I’m glad to see them sponsoring the track.
Favorite memories of Winternationals
I always look forward to this event. We grew up down the street in Chino, so, you know, it’s definitely a home game for us.
I remember winning the ‘89 Winternationals in an Alcohol Dragster, then came back the very next year and won the 1990 Winternationals in an Alcohol Funny Car. I’ve also competed in Top Fuel there, so it’s one of the few tracks I’ve competed in all four different categories.
Name on the side of Cruz’s car – Snap-on Nitro Franchisee: Garrett Maxon
· Garrett Maxon’s been a part of the Snap-on team since 2018 and has owned his own franchise for a couple of years now.
· He’s been to the Winternationals before, but this will be his first time meeting Cruz, and the team has something special planned for Garrett and the customers he’s bringing out to the track Friday evening.
· They’re having dinner in Cruz’s pit. It’s decked out with lots of new features to show off the car to the franchisees, Makers and Fixers, and fans who visit the pit area during the upcoming season.
· When he’s not at the track or busy running a business on his Snap-on truck, you’ll likely find Garrett playing golf or at a concert.
