Quotable:
“We have some good, positive momentum heading into our second race of the 2024 season after a solid showing in Gainesville. Our Bandero GR Supra team made some big clutch adjustments over the off-season and we feel like we have a really good baseline to work off of. Now, it’s all about refining our tune-up and continuing to chip away at it so that we can consistently make those 3.80 runs when the conditions are right. It’s crazy to think that we’re all targeting sub-3.9-second runs now, and that’s the norm considering it was at this exact race 10 years ago when our team clocked our first sub-four-second pass. That was a big deal at the time, especially for me since it meant I was the first female Funny Car driver to make a run in the three-second zone.
“Our team feels really good heading into this weekend’s race, but we know that we can’t take anything for granted. There will be 21 Funny Cars on the property, so it’ll be up to us to make sure we earn our spot in the Sunday field. We just need to keep our heads down and take it one run at a time, focus on qualifying and getting ourselves into a top-seeded position, and then we can worry about taking care of business on Sunday.”
