Hickory Motor Speedway, Hickory ,N.C. Saturday March 16,2024 PASS Easter Bunny 150

In conjunction with the running of the St. Patrick Day 150, Hickory Motor Speedway also presented the Easter Bunny 150.

Suffering from a broken suspension part in the St. Patrick Day 150, Derek Griffith roared back for an impressive win in the Easter Bunny 150 portion.

Only two caution flags early in the event slowed the action briefly but it didn’t slow Griffith who put on a driving clinic to streak to his third Easter Bunny 150 victory.

Griffith started from the third row by virtue of his second place finish in the third qualifying heat race. By lap fifteen Griffith took the lead from race leader Gabe Brown who had led from the start.

Griffith quickly ran out to a straightaway lead, a lead he never relinquished. With no caution flag after lap twenty four the only difficulty Griffith encountered in the race was lapped traffic which he had to pick his way through.

At the checkered flag Griffith finished 7:678 seconds ahead of Max Cookson and third place Garett Hall. Cory Hall was fourth and Jimmy Renfrew had a successful day with a fifth place finish. Renfrew was third in the St. Patrick Day 150 portion of the day’s events.
