SOUTHERN ELEVATOR COMPANY STRIVES FOR SUICIDE
PREVENTION WITH SPECIAL SCHEME AT DARLINGTON
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (August 26th, 2024) — Ryan Ellis and the Southern Elevator Company are proud to announce that they have joined forces to raise awareness for National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, which begins one day after the green flag drops at Darlington Raceway on August 31st. Not only does the month of September aim to raise mental health awareness, but it also represents a time to remember those who have been lost to suicide. Southern Elevator’s dedicated “National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month” scheme features the Suicide Awareness colors—purple and teal. Together, Southern Elevator and Ellis hope that this collaboration can help shine a spotlight on mental health resources and normalizing mental health care. Southern Elevator Company is a full-service elevator maintenance, repair, and modernization company serving North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. As a trusted partner for all elevator equipment needs, Southern Elevator’s team has expertise in servicing industry-leading brands like Kone, Otis, Schindler, and ThyssenKrupp. Their highly-trained team will ensure that your elevators operate efficiently and safely.
QUOTES FROM RYAN ELLIS AND SOUTHERN ELEVATOR:
“We hope this car can represent a small step towards eliminating stigma around mental health
in our community and sport. We want our friends and family to know that it is okay to reach out
and ask for help – it’s not just okay, it’s normal,” said Ryan Ellis, the No.43 Southern Elevator
Chevy Camaro driver. “Because of my wife’s occupation as a nurse working in mental health,
I’ve become far more aware of just how widespread depression is. We hope this partnership
can be a small part of breaking the silence around mental health and help point people toward
mental health resources. We want everyone to know they don’t have to fight this battle alone.”
“Tragically, I have personally experienced this in the wake of these unfortunate decisions. As
part of our Southern Elevator Cares initiative, we have partnered with Ryan Ellis and the 43
team to bring awareness to this issue. It is important to the people at Southern Elevator that we
use our sponsorships for awareness. We all need to do a better job of removing the stigma of
getting help. We must encourage people when they feel “off” to reach out and talk to a friend,
relative, or professional. We need to encourage you never to feel alone and that you can be
strong while asking for help,” said Steve Phillips, Southern Elevator’s Chief Operating
Officer.
“As the CEO of Southern Elevator Company, I cannot be prouder of the efforts that Southern
Elevator’s servant leadership staff is making to volunteer to help our community. Working jointly
with Ryan Ellis and the No.43 team allows us to accomplish this and shine a light on one of the
most critical issues facing us today,” said Christopher Short, Southern Elevator’s CEO.
