VERNON, NY – $5 Friday.
This Friday, July 12, at Utica-Rome Speedway, Standard Heating, Cooling, and Insulating presents $5 Friday.
Grandstand admission for everyone ages 12 and over will be just $5. Kids 11 and under will still be admitted FREE.
The 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds will headline the return to Friday night weekly racing at the ‘Home of Heroes.’
The Route 5 half-mile oval hosted the ‘Bill Shea Memorial’ last Thursday, July 4.
Sprakers, N.Y.’s Stewart Friesen topped the 3 Bastards Brewing Modified feature for his second Modified win of the season at Utica-Rome. He also won the ESS 360 Sprint Car Main.
Savannah, N.Y.’s Matt Sheppard continues to pace the 3 Bastards Brewing Modified standings by 58 markers over Alex Yankowski.
Also on the July 12 card are the Taylor’s Trailers LLC Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman, Fonda Fair Four Cylinders plus the All-Star and Junior Slingshots on the inner oval.
For the All-Star and Junior Slingshot competitors, the events will feature a draw format and offer show-up points. The events serve as Super National specials for Speedway Entertainment.
Payton Talbot leads the Taylors Trailers LLC Crate 602 Sportsman by 100 points over Mike Richmond.
The Next Generation Graphix – who were dubbed by FloRacing as the ‘Race of the Week’ for their July 4 performance – are headed by Bret Belden by just 22 points over A.J. Walters.
Eric Jensen and Andrew MacFadden continue their duel for the top spot in the Fastline Performance Limited Performance standings, separated by just six points. Carson Rothwell (-10) and Jayden Wust (-14) make it a four car fight for the championship.
Wayne Russell Jr. (SOHC) and Rudy King Jr. (DOHC) lead the Fonda Fair Four Cylinders while Brett Putnam (All-Star) and Addisyn Roger (Junior) lead the Slingshot standings heading into Friday night.
Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
Pit admission is $40 (Non-Members), $35 (Members), $10 Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 Children (ages 5 and under).
The night of racing will be broadcast live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv).
