JAMES BLEWETT TOPS WALL STADIUM NASCAR MODFIEDS SATURDAY NIGHT
WALL, NJ ~ After graduating high school just a few days earlier James Blewett was the big winner in the NASCAR Local Racing Series presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts on Saturday night at Wall Stadium. The Howell resident stood in the same winner’s circle that his father, uncle and grandfather have stood in in the past by winning the 40 lap race for the NASCAR Modified cars. It was James’ second Modified win and his first of the 2026 season.
The young racer jumped to the lead at the outset but fought off several competitors along the way. First Jake Nelke of Manahawkin was in Blewett’s shadow before defending champion Tyler Truex of Mayetta advanced to second and took his shots at the leader. Meanwhile Jackson’s Kyle Scisco was slicing his way to the front before advancing to second on lap 12.
From that point on Scisco tried to track down the leader through the non-stop laps before settling for second on his first appearance at the track of the season. Eddie McCarthy of Brick, Jackson’s Steven Reed and Howell’s Jimmy Blewett wrapped up the top five.
“This has been a real good several days,” James Blewett said after the event. “Graduating high school was a big deal and now winning here is really good. I have to thank my mom, dad and sister for all the support. I also have to thank the people who work on this car. They are like my second family.”
The Factory Stocks battled in two main events on Saturday night. The first, a rain postponed 20 lapper from June 6, saw young Nick Bilello of Howell grab his first ever win at the stadium. Chris Lane and Kevin Flores were second and third while Johnny Carpenter and former champ Elliot Wohl completed the top five.
In the regularly scheduled Factory Stock 25 lapper veteran Scott Riggleman of Manchester, a four time driving champion here, raced to his 37th main event win. Riggleman fought off Carpenter, Patrick Force, Wohl and Lane to wrap up the top five
Mike Alcaro of West Milford raced to victory in the 30 lap Summer Slam Series main event for the Legend Cars, fighting off Long Island’s Timmy Solomito to the finish. Jack Gerzabek, Thomas Schwarz and Mark Tischler were third through fifth.
Howell’s Ryan Bilello raced to his first ever Sportsman win in the class’ 25-lap headliner. Multi-time division champ Kevin Davison was forced to settle for second. Ryan Kuhlthau, Zach Lenardo and Billy Both completed the top five.
. Wall Stadium will return to action this Saturday night July 18. The NASCAR Modifieds will be in the spotlight as they compete in the “Hall of Fame 100.” 4 Cylinder cars, Factory Stocks and TQ Midgets will also be in action. Qualifying is at 6:00 p.m. with main events starting at 7:30 p.m.
Wall Stadium is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. Visit wall-stadium.com for info and updates. The speedway hotline number is 732-681-6400 and email address is wallstadiuminfo@gmail.com.
